CIRCAD'98 Version 4.03 Information

4.03a

Released on September 1, 1998
Program:

CIRCAD'98 will now work with "always on top" windows, such as help tutorials and tool kits.

A pop-up mini-menu has been added. The will eliminate the need to roll up to the menu bar at the top of the screen for commonly used functions.

Functions on the menus are grayed out when they are not available for use.
Dialogs:

The Plotter Out dialog box now has a "Disabled" check box. This will allow the user to turn a layer off without clearing its color.

Program:

The Setup Draw Modes dialog box now has an "Angle/Distance" check box. This feature will add a new field to the position readout on the status bar.

The Flood Fill values and the Net Scan clearances values no longer are (inadvertently) cleared by the V4.0 import filter.
Dialogs:

The Plotter Out dialog box now displays the target resolution in DPI when "BMP to disk" is specified.

Program:

A bug in the text string length subroutine introduced in V403b has been eliminated. The problem showed up most seriously when using the Place Signal Port and Place Bus Port functions on schematic files.

Program:

A bug in the Gerber Out function concerning clearance holes around vias on automatically created power and ground plane files has been fixed. This problem only affected multi-layer boards where the power or ground plane was not flooded prior to gerber file generation.

Program:

The Place Text and Edit Text functions will now scroll the screen to keep the typing cursor within the visible area.

Extended ASCII characters can now be accessed by holding the <ALT> key and entering the character's decimal code on the ten key pad.
Dialogs:

A pop-up dialog box with a progress bar has been added to the Plotter Out function.

The Setup Options dialog box now has a check box to make CIRCAD'98 an "always on top" window.

The color bricks on the Plotter Out and Setup Layers dialog boxes will now update the color as the user types numbers into the value field.
Gerber Out:

The Gerber Out function will now process fiducial pads.

All export filters now properly process rotated pads.

4.03g
Program:

A bug in the Flood Fill function introduced in V403e has been eliminated. The bug prevented CIRCAD'98 from adding thermals to pins that are attached to the flooded layer.

CIRCAD'98 now prevents opening multiple copies of the same file.
